Delicious is growing

Delicious is an ensemble of Madison writers, performers and musicians, dedicated to collaborative creativity in a deliberate crisis experience. It's is a newly invented genre of performance, where everyone writes and everyone acts, with an equal stake in the writing and performing. This breakthrough in artistic collaboration has created over 30 full productions of Are We Delicious? (including full-length plays and musicals), Delicious classes, special performances with local colleges, numerous collaborations with other arts organizations, and a weekly radio play podcast.

Delicious reaches a new stage

In fall 2016, Are We Delicious? and its related projects became a non-profit registered as Delicious Creative Inc. with a 501(c)(3) tax-exemption. Our mission is to conduct charitable and educational activities related to collaborative performance art projects which prioritize creativity and empowerment, teamwork and cooperation, self-confidence, and expansion of individual creative potential within a supportive group experience.

Delicious performances and projects have these characteristics:

  • Collaborative. Every participant has an equal opportunity in and responsibility
    for the final performance.
  • Simple Production. Projects are deliberately “poor”, focusing on writing and
performing. No complex sets, costumes, props, special effects. Projects are creative risks, not financial risks.
  • Deliberate Crisis Experience. Projects have a shorter timeframe and fewer resources than
similar projects with other organizations. Crisis focuses the mind and brings people together.
  • Final Public Performance. The project is shared with the public on a preā€announced date.

We believe the Delicious process can be applied all the arts, as well as social policy and business. Organizing as a non-proft will help us expand on our mission and support artists in this work.  We are currently able to accept tax-exempt contributions and hope that some of our loyal fans will consider giving to advance this worthy cause!
