5th Anniversary Ensemble Member: Dee King

Dee King is an actor, director and educator specializing in musical theatre, physical theatre, and the work of the Actor/Creator. This summer, Dee received rave reviews for his performances in “Knowledge Worker” for Forward Theatre’s monologue festival, and as “Mr. Bungee” in MTM’s “A New Brain.”  Other local performances include Gypsy with Michele Ragusa (CCT), Good Morning, Mr. K!  (Kanopy/White Church), Shrek the Musical  (CTM), La Boheme (Madison Opera), and Alice and Big Money (MTM). Dee has also performed throughout the US with the New Victory Theatre (NYC), Orlando Rep, the CEC, Belligerent Muse, Syracuse Stage, the Syracuse Symphony, Dell’ Arte Inc., Seaside Music Theater, Hangar Theatre, the Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival, and has toured nationally with Enchantment Theatre. He was the director/co-creator/co-writer of the 2003 Philly Fringe hit, The Mad Cow Musical. Dee is featured on the Original Cast Recording of the 1998 off-Broadway production of The Wind in the Willows, composed by Diane Adams-McDowell (vocal arranger for the Tony Award-winning A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder).  He was Co-Artistic Director of Belligerent Muse Theatre Company.  His direction of Interview: A Fugue for Eight Actors with Belligerent Muse was called “… stunningly confident, virtuosic…” by the Philadelphia Weekly.  He has trained extensively with Anne Bogart and the SITI Company, Tina Landau, Catherine Fitzmaurice, Linda Wise, Gennadi Bogdanov, Pig Iron Theatre, Ronlin Foreman, and Daniel Stein. As an educator, Dee has taught workshops and classes at CCT’s Find Your Light Summer Program, Syracuse University, University of the Arts, Syracuse University Summer College, CCCS, the McCarter Theatre, Syracuse Stage, Mad Cow Theatre, Enchantment Theatre/Landis &Co., Dell’ Arte, Carnegie Mellon, the 2007 and 2008 Florida Thespian Conferences, and elementary, middle, and secondary schools across the country.  He has a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University, and a certificate from the PTTP at the Dell’ Arte International School of Physical Theatre.  Dee is currently a Chiropractic Physician and Active Release Technique (ART) provider at Pro Motion Chiropractic & Rehab.  He specializes in the treatment of world-class dancers, performers, athletes, weekend warriors, and everyday people.  Find out more at www.deekingdc.com.

5th Anniversary Ensemble Member: Amber McReynolds

Amber McReynolds is excited to participate in her fifth Delicious project.  Amber was previously seen in Murder Mystery, Xmas ’14, and Elephant in the Room.  She also wrote and performed for the Sounds Delicious Audio Theatre podcast.  She most recently assistant directed Playscapes, written and directed by Kelly Maxwell, at Broom Street Theater.  Favorite past shows include Xanadu, Hello Dolly! and Into the Woods.  She has studied improvisation and sketch writing with the Monkey Business Institute in Madison, WI and improv with the Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT) in New York City.  Amber has degrees in communications and law from the University of Wisconsin.

5th Anniversary Ensemble Member: Bree Prehn

Bree Prehn joins Delicious for the second time in our 5th Anniversary show March 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 7:30 pm at the Bartell Theatre. Go to arewedelicious.com/tickets to purchase advance tickets.

Bree Prehn is delighted to return to the stage in this, her second Delicious, having thoroughly enjoyed her experience in 2016's Murder Mystery. Previous Madison credits include costuming Lobby Hero and The Madwoman of Chaillot with Strollers Theatre, although her all-time favorite role was playing Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest at her alma mater, Northern Michigan University. You can (and should) catch her improvising with Monkey Business Institute most Saturday nights.

Doug Reed originally hails from Richmond, VA and graduated from Goshen College - where he still holds the school record for most skipped chapels. Doug is an improvisor with Monkey Business Institute, an author, an actor, and a playwright. In 2012, Doug was a member of the original Are We Delicious ensemble. In late 2017, he will become the new artistic director of Broom Street Theater.

5th Anniversary Ensemble Member: Karen Saari

Karen Saari is a playwright whose In a Clearing was chosen for the 2015 Wisconsin Wrights New Play Festival. Her work was a semi-finalist for the Playwrights Revolution competition in Sacramento and IATI Theater’s Cimientos 2017 in NYC. In recent years, she’s been a frequent writer/performer with the Bricks Theatre’s That’s What She Said storytelling series. She wrote several one-acts for Mercury Players Blitz and for Mercury’s Short-shorts (plays in three pages or fewer) series. She’s been commissioned to pen comedic sketches for local business events. Her writing credits include the co-writing of a local live sitcom, Band for Life and a musical, Headset. She works by day as a marketing copywriter for Madison College. She founded Broken Dart Players, a comedy troupe that restages classic sitcoms, in 2014.

As a performer, Saari has acted with several companies in town. Her credits include Music Theatre of Madison’s (MTM) Bonnie and Clyde (Cumie Barrow) and Sound of Music (Elsa), Alley Stage’s The Odd Couple (Gwendolyn), Mercury Players’ original You’ve Ruined a Perfectly Good Mystery (Lady Bosom-Heaving), Madison Theatre Guild’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (Sandy) and Strollers’ Cat’s Paw (Jessica Lyons) and Miss Firecracker Contest (Popeye). She’s also a working voiceover talent.
